This provides each camper with the opportunity to experience a wide variety of fun activities. Also, campers participate in activities will campers in the same age range. This includes, sailing a straight line, tacking, coming about, jibbing, righting a flipped boat and more. Campers also have the opportunity to enjoy rides on our catamarans.
Sports – a few of the sports campers may participate in but are not limited to are: Basketball, baseball, football, slaughter ball, soccer and many other camp games. All of these activities are well supervised and monitored by our counselors who participate in many of these activities that they are able to.
Water sports– Our talented instructors work with campers to improve their water skiing skills. If you have never been behind a boat or if you are able to ski on a slalom or wake-board, this activity will keep you energized. For new skiers, our instructors begin with the basics of putting on the skis in the water and adjusting to the life-jacket. Our pole boats allow us to work closely with first time skiers to quickly get them behind the boat. More advanced skiers are instructed on improving their skills.
Other special activities that campers may participate in while at Camp Stanislaus include: barbecues, beach volleyball, bowling, bonfires, ceramics, karaoke shows, canoeing, Marine Biology beach activities, skit nights, off shore fishing, magic shows, and trips to the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium, Movies, Children’s museum, and the USS Alabama Battleship. At camp activities are always subject to change as we try to add fun new activities to keep our campers active and interested.
Other limitations with participating in activities:
(1) There are no trips for campers attending the one-week session.
(2) Day campers are not able to stay for evening activities since their counselors have other responsibilities at this time. Pick up time is 6:15PM.
(3) Some activities are assigned to specific groups based on age range of the campers.
